About

Origination and Transition 
 
Corner Pockets originated and opened for business on March 1, 1996 as a Family Billiard Center.  While 
on vacation in London we visited Harrods Department Store and discovered a new construction toy 
called K’NEX.  We purchased the Big Ball Factory Kit and brought it back to the US (later to discover that 
K’NEX is US based).  We constructed the kit and displayed it as a conversation piece in the billiard.  
Guests were intrigued by the construction and began inquiring about how they could also obtain one.  
We finally contacted K’NEX and they sent a sales rep to visit us. He probably thought we were crazy 
wanting to put toys in a billiard.  In 2001 our first K’NEX order arrived and sales followed immediately.  
As sales grew we had to remove billiard tables to make room for the growing toy displays.  Toy sales 
continued to grow as we added more brands until every billiard table was gone. 
 
In 2002 we started experimenting with on-line sales.  On-line sales continue to be a major part of our 
business. 
 
Today we continue as a New Jersey based small business that is 100% family owned and operated.  
Every order is processed and hand packaged with care.  All orders are shipped the same or next postal 
business day. 
 
   
 
Community Involvement 
 
For several years we hosted multiple 4-H clubs that were construction toy based, teaching various 
technologies, engineering, and physics concepts to community youth who presented and displayed their 
creations annually at the New Jersey State Fair. 
 
2005 thru 2007 we displayed and hosted hands-on construction projects at the New Jersey State Fair.  
The highlight from this whas the interactive construction of the World’s Largest American Flag built out 
of K’NEX. 
 
We continue to support our local community thru sponsorships and participation in various non-profit events.
